James Smith Designs
This studio offers a complete range of design services from inception to creation, specialising in furniture and domestic products. Taking a user-centred approach to the design process, it is the ambition to create highly effective solutions to the challenges in hand. The studio operates in two ways: on a commissioned basis - working closely with the client to achieve a succesful bespoke solution and on a speculative self-directed brief basis - designing with the mass market and industrial production in mind. Whatever the nature of the project, the emphasis is always; intelligent design and high quality craftsmanship

Designs are batch produced or made on commission with some standard items available immediately and others to order. Please enquire about any item that is of interest or get in touch to discuss a bespoke commission.

This training was furthered by attending the Falmouth College of Arts to study Ba(hons) 3D Design for Sustainability (1st Class). Prior to starting this consultancy he interned at Heatherwick Studios in London.
